Akademie der Künste, Hanseatenweg 10, 10557 Berlin
A project of Arnold Dreyblatt and Akademie der Künste in cooperation with raumlaborberlin
funded by Hauptstadtkulturfonds
The IKG (International Artists’ Committee) was invited to the Akademie der Künste as part of Berlin-Karussell: The Academy as a Living Artistic Practice by Arnold Dreyblatt.
On May 2, 2026, 30 Berlin-based IKG artists presented their works from suitcases at a long table within the framework of Dreyblatt’s Berlin-Karussell: The Academy as a Living Artistic Practice. Dreyblatt draws on the circulation processes of John Cage and further develops the idea of a non-centered composition. The Akademie der Künste becomes a temporary working academy, where artists from all disciplines unfold process-oriented research, discussions, performances, and interactions. The IKG presented itself as a vibrant and multifaceted group through its artworks, performances, and conversations, in which visitors were able to participate.
